About me

Jump to my education & Experience

Hello! I’m Loren Farese and I am a yoga teacher and trainer. When I took my first yoga class 14 years ago, I was going through a challenging phase in my relationship to my mental health. Yoga made me feel strong in my body and mind for the first time in a long, long time.

As my health started to improve, yoga became an important tool for keeping me grounded and resilient. It helped me begin that lifelong journey we all take: that of shifting our relationship with our bodies from one of self-criticism and self-loathing to one of respect, acceptance, and love.

My own experience has been so profound that I decided to share these practices with others. I’ve pursued a number of trainings and teachings, including restorative yoga, yoga therapy, and anatomy. I’ve had the privilege of studying with remarkable teachers such as Judith Lasater, Donna Farhi, and Nischala Joy Devi. This work has helped me to understand the interplay between the physical body and our mental and emotional wellbeing.

I’ve been privileged to share what I’ve learned through workshops and trainings. Lately, I’ve transitioned into one-on-one work because I can tailor the practice for each individual’s needs—including basic information about how your body and nervous system works, along with tools to regulate your self-care.

I believe that yoga should be accessible to every body, regardless of age, size, ability, gender, or color. I’m currently studying somatic psychology to deepen my knowledge of the body, nervous system, and psychological wellness within the context of our fraught social dynamics. We live in anxious times and it is my experience that yogic tools provide a much-needed balance to our tired nervous systems, as well as a solid path toward self-awareness. As Rainer Maria Rilke says, “you are not too old and it is not too late, to dive into your increasing depths where life calmly gives out its own secret.”

I hope to meet you soon!
